Recently, ASA President Lou Schwartz visited the San Diego Hall of Champions in beautiful Balboa Park in San Diego, California. The centerpiece of the Hall of Champions is the Breitbard Hall of Fame. Schwartz received a guided tour from Mr. Breitbard himself.

The Hall of Fame honors outstanding athletes from San Diego who starred elsewhere and those who achieved stardom for local teams. It began in 1953 and now includes 96 members, representing 20 sports. Professionals as well as amateurs were eligible from the outset. New members are inducted at the annual Salute to the Champions dinner, which is held each year in February.
